Re-covering the door tops and pockets

I have a '69 912 targa and have taken the doors apart to get the tops and pockets re-covered.

I have a few questions and need some help on how to proceed.

    1. Should I go to Tony Garcia at Autobahn or Autos International? I live in San Diego so neither is a problem.

    2. My door cards are in ok shape, just one weak spot. Should I try to repair myself or have my vinyl put on new cards?

    3. I would like to replace the felt in the window guide. Do I have to take the frame out of the car?

    4. Other than greasing the window mechanism, anything else I should consider while apart?

    Thank, Dean

Regarding Autos Int'l vs Autobahn... I've had excellent work done by each of them over the years. That being said, I'm using Tony at Autobahn exclusively now. His work is outstanding but, just as importantly, his service is awesome. I can't always say that about AI.

    Update.

I went with Tony at Autobahn.
Going to have the door tops and pockets done.
Actually I have two sets of pockets being done. The originals and some others I had.
Going to go with which ones turn out best.
Also having the door cards replaced and use my basket weave to cover.

I will also replace the door stops with some NOS stops I had.

I will take pictures when I get them back. Tony said within two weeks.

I'm also having some door tops recovered in about 3 weeks. I'll post the results. AI is doing mine. Nick
