    Valve seal dilemma

Was inspecting the heads to male sure everything was in spec
I noticed that whoever worked on it before did not put valve seals on the exhaust valve guide
I taught the guy who did those before was nuts but more reading indicate its better without
I know its better to have some on the intake
But the exhaust yes or no

I'd do whatever the engine designer says...

    Here's a discussion on the matter. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-e...tem-seals.html

Been doing 911 engines since they started, have always used white teflon guide seals intake and exhaust. Never saw a problem. In an instance where there was a customer complaint of excessive consumption it was discovered previous builder left off the exhaust seals. Let your conscious be your guide. (pun intended)

So in short if you are racing and oil consumption is secondary to valve cooling they are better off and
If you just want to drive the car as a week end toy pur them on
Thank you guy the choice is made
