... later on in the same Goodwood Revival event race the Bamford family's (owner of JCB Anthony Bamford's) 64 250 GTO in this near miss did actually get hit from behind, pushed off track and was damaged by an AC Cobra.

Although the RBR Team Principal was the Ferrari's co-driver, Jo Bamford a member of the owning family was driving it at the time. Programme below, "gentlemen racers" clearly enjoy using the cars in their private collection alongside the driving professionals

    Further footage of the race:

This car has been raced a lot and the Royal Automobile Club International Tourist Trophy Celebration at the Goodwood Revival usually attracts a remarkably expensive and interesting grid for an event that is known to race hard and sometimes bend very expensive rare old racers.
Not just the TT many other races and features:

I recently posted clip of a grid of 15 250 GTOs on Goodwood track in an earlier year's Revival race. The article estimates the grid to be around half billion GB£. See last link:

Yes they are well heeled ... family actually owns two 250 GTOs and a collection of other cars. Money was made by engineering, making and selling JCB construction equipment. Successfully built up over several generations from original founder -- something I can admire more than many other ways families make similarly large sums.

It's their car and money. And Goodwood has real racing. Which, unlike the Rolex Motorsports Reunion where, at times, it is a Conga line.

And, to paraphrase a comment about racing Porsches; which part of vintage racing does not cost a lot of money? The vintage part or the racing part?

The article says "skilled drivers" I doubt that. If the Jaguar driver was skilled you would have seem his wheels reverse steer through that corner. Either way the damage to the $30 million Ferrari would have been minimal because it was two cars at near equal speed and he would have simply "tapped" the back of the Ferrari flush.

article also says low drag coupe which its not.....

anyhew, it was cool to see on board...and yes damage would not have been BIG

Jag went in kinda hot, and it seemed Ferrari slammed the door a bit.
