Make your own fresh air vent

I found this product on the net: Versimold. You mold it to whatever shape you want, then heat to cure it into a hard rubber.

So I molded it into a fresh air vent, using a template I built up. I bought a 1/2" metal rod at the hardware store, but the shaft in the car is 9/16", so I built it up with a few layers of masking tape. The important thing is to have a piece of rubber that keeps the required shape around the shaft, with the 90 degree bend. Bake it at 250 degrees for 20 minutes.

When it's done baking and cools off, peel it off the template, trim it to shape with a razor blade, and voila! (Trim it after heating, as it will shrink while baking. I found this out with the first attempt.)

I attached it with nut and bolts, since I wasn't happy with any rivet methods I could find. Not a bad solution, I'd say.

If you like Versimold, you should try Sugru. Much better product.

I never ran across that in my internet search. Much better? The Versimold worked pretty well. Have you tried both?

I have. The Sugru is much more durable and holds its shape much better. The only advantage I've found with Versimold is it's quicker because it cures with a heat gun but other than that I much prefer the Sugru. Sugru is also available in colors that can be mixed to create very specific pigments. Not sure about Versimold as I've only seen it in black.
