Who got this Barnfind in the Bay Area??

So, my wife's nephew is over the other night and tells us his wife's Aunts husband just recently passed and she finds a car in storage that she knew nothing about. He goes on to tell me it was a Porsche and I say well what model and year? Well, it turns out it's apparently a '66. Show he shows me the pic on his phone and sure enough it's either a 911 or 912. About this time, my wife and I are saying let's see about it.

Well, sadly to say he told us they sold it before he could get back to them and this was 3 weeks ago!!

And what's crazy is they let it go for $5K!!

Needless to say, someone in SF won the LOTTO!

I don't know much more about the car, but here's the 2 pictures he had to share.

If you are that lucky person or know of him/her, please step up!

Looks more like a 135 k$ 1967 S project car. Car for the price of the wheels...

Or rearview mirror. Great buy either way though, they look like 4.5" Fuchs with a car thrown in for free.

The original hood badge will be worth $5k in 10 years.

Mark my words: You will see this car on eBay in about 2 weeks with some made up BS about it.

    You read it here first.

No Doubt in my mind! I see four screw grills. If this is a 911 it was a better deal than I got on my 65. I have been dethroned

You didn't tell your wife's aunt what the car could be worth, did you? If it turns out to be a '64 she will read about it in the Examiner or the Chronicle.

What a great mystery; She didn't even know about the car! That's hilarious. For all of you guys out there who don't include your wife in your financial decisions let this be a lesson:

Some stranger reaps the benefit of your secrecy down the road. The buyer will probably end up with the widow as well.

    Oops...

    too soon?

I know. I rarely see the right fat s 67 deco's. Even on so called concours restorations, they often use later S side deco's and small normal front/rear deco's.

and ibmiked, indeed the rear view mirror is blinking too much to be black plastic at the window side.

4 screw horns... So it might even be worse like trdking noted.

Nobody should forget the wise lesson by Frank!

Looks like a black dash, not a painted dash. And the 4-screw horn grills suggest it is, in fact, a '66. But is it a 911, or 912? It has sport seats. Would that make it more likely to be a 911?

Wondering if the buyer might regret the whole thing years from now, despite the great find ??
