    FS: 1972 Porsche 911S Coupe

I have owned this 72' S Coupe for two . I purchased the car from Poudre Sports Car in Fort Collins, Colorado , who maintained and serviced the car for the second owner since the mid 80'S.

It recently underwent a bare metal paint job in its original color, guards red, at a cost of 13k. Included with the purchase price will be a steel S bumper and a set of ( 4 ) 15 × 6 fuchs, as the car currently has a fiberglass bumper and cookie cutters.

The motor, unfortunately, isn't a matching numbers. It is equipped with a 2.7, built by Paul Weir of Seattle, Washington. Paul's reputation as a 911 engine builder is impressive, as people have been shipping their engines to his facility for decades. His 2.7 build for this particular coupe is no exception, as it is mechanically sound with no oil leaks, and less than 40k miles since the rebuild.

The interior is in good shape. The dash, however, may need attention, as it presently has a dash cover. The carpet is somewhat worn, showing it's age. The original steering wheel was placed back on the car .

I have extensive service records and invoices dating back to the mid 80'S, including the build sheet for the work performed by Paul Weir and the recent paint job. I have taken into consideration the current market value for matching numbers 72'S coupes, and I have priced it accordingly. I have been advised to keep this classic, but I recently purchased a 72' Targa that will require a full restoration. The original color of metalic gold and it's matching numbers have persuaded me to sell the 72' S Coupe to offset the restoration cost.

I have described my 72'S Coupe to the best of my knowledge. Please don't waste my time analyzing and nit picking this classic. It is an authentic 72'S Coupe with most of its original body panels, with the exception of the aforementioned bumper and the light weight aluminum deck lid, and it's a non matching numbers vehicle. Asking $95,000.00. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Henry 626 598-2378 . Thanks for viewing my post .

So an 05/71 production date is a 72? Was this a pre production car for ad purposes?

The first 2.4 was a T built in March 71 so that production date could be correct. The first T was a 71MY shell without the outside oil filler (amongst other things). The pre production or test mules were usually Versuch cars.

For an early 72 car, the fiberglass front bumper is correct. They changed fiberglass to steel from I don't remember exactly vin number between 230300 and 230400.
The aluminium deck lid could also be correct I think.

Thank you for your valuable information. I love these early 911S , and I have always owned one ,but I'm not the most educated man when it comes to the specs .

Did you mean between 2300300 and 2300400 is the period when the change in fiberglass to steel ocurred?
