. . . . . . fishy!
'. . . It is a sad process separating a car and owner (1) that have enjoyed so much together and it is even more difficult when that owner personally shares the stories and memories the car created for him. This is however no reason to feel sad and forlorn as this is an opportunity for this particularly special 911 to begin its new life. With every coat of shining paint and each new stitch in the upholstery comes another step towards this car being returned to the condition and shape it truly deserves to be in (2). This is an opportunity for this little S to find a new and loving owner (3) and to begin forming all new memories and character. The 1967 911S is a truly distinctive car in the world of 911s’, with only around 1800 originally being built (4) and who knows how many are left (5) after countless liftoff over-steer incidents and race car conversions. Therefore, as painful as it might be to lose some of the character and soul, it is absolutely necessary to return this car to drivability in hopes that a new generation will be able to build memories with it, much like the last owner. Hopefully the next caretaker (6) will impart a new sense of character and soul to this car all over again and fill the blank canvas of a 911S with their own lifetime of sights and experiences (7) . . .'
(1) Heart-breaking. Sob-sniff-sniffle . . . . . . ca-ca-cash? Or wire transfer?
(2) Hmmm. With all the money I just saved @(1), I can do this one 'nice.' Patina-schmatina --- we're talkin' 'margins' here, babies
(3) 'New and loving' ----------- and loaded! Cha-ching! Puerta Vallarta --- here I come!
(4) Liiiiiiiiiiiiitle dash o' 'marketing'
(5) Dit--to
(6) 'Next caretaker' = NOT me
(7) Jeeeeez --- layin' on a liiiitle thick, aren't cha, Pal?
Gak!

He would receive a failing grade in my freshman creative writing class.
I vomited a little bit.
Anyone who uses "my eyes danced over the car" with a straight face should be strung up.
I'm with you Rick; it's all about da money.
Agreed.
If you follow the link on the youtube video to "read more about this story" it takes you here: http://www.lbilimited.com/ pretty sure that car was already sold before it left the car trailer it was loaded on.

I find it truly fascinating at how our younger culture engages in obsessive self promotion without the slightest bit of shame or embarrassment.
Always entertaining to see people post their own articles.
What's fascinating to me is that they actually took the time to do a video and photoshoot of the "barn" it was in; and try to make it look like they gave a rat's furry behind about the history of this car (or its future for that matter).

Any of you guys got an official curmudgeon membership? I have reached the magic seventy and am bona fide. Give it a break, please. We already have enough nit picking on this site. Your comments are just about as "cute" as the story itself.
