NARDI steering wheel too close with MOMO hub and (Nardi) adapter

    Hi All-
Just purchased a Nardi Classic steering wheel, MOMO Hub and Nardi adapter. I installed and while I love the look of the Nardi, I feel that the hub and adapter have pushed the wheel too close to me. Distance from the top of the dash to the middle of the top of the steering wheel rim is about 4". If I can find a Nardi Hub that works, would that be a better solution? Is there a short hub out there that will fit? Car is a 1972 911e. Any advice on sellers would be helpful. Thanks. -bradName: IMG_2882.jpg

The stock wheel on my 911 isn't even two inches from the dash above the tachometer. When early 911s autocross they often finish with the windshield wipers going.

    Thumbs up

    Brad,

Looks like Nick has exactly what you need...

My hub 1 3/4" and it brings my wheel center 2 1/2" from the edge of the dash....

Normally, the wheel is too close to the dash, and causes the problems mentioned above. Too many people have the wheel too far from their torso. You should have your elbows bent, not straight and when going from 9 to 3 while turning there should not be any separation of your shoulders from the seat back.
safer, more comfortable and more efficient.
I am 5'11 and have the a solid Momo hub with a half an inch spacer.
Your legs should also be bent.

Hi RSTarga- I agree to a certain extent. But, when you are a LG (in this case it means little guy with short legs!) you must have your seat a fair bit further forward. I am 5'8" and I just feel that my arms are bent too much when I am close enough to the pedals. Such is life when you are vertically challenged!

Nick- I think I would be happy with either hub. Need a MOMO hub by chance?
