    FS: @Motor Classic --- '73 'S' Coupe . . .

    VIN = ?
    Eng# = ?
    Trans# = ?

    '. . . This matching numbers example is the last year for the 2.4 911S and is uniquely equipped with a very rare factory power sunroof, air conditioning, limited slip differential and auxiliary cooler. Restored in the late 1990's with a rebuilt engine, transmission (5000 miles ago), new paint and interior, riding on Michelin XWX's. Mechanically and cosmetically outstanding and unusual factory equipment makes it a prime candidate for the astute 911 collector/investor . . .'

    Assume your comment is tongue-in-cheek....or do you know something special about this car that would even merit the $225K - $275K figure....the day of to those prices seem to have disappeared.

    $180 - 190K for the BEST 73-S cars. Very recent personal experience (just sold my 73-S) and from counsel from a number of sources deep in the business who know these cars and have been following the depressed market. I had several real wholesale broker buyers for $150K....not a nickle more. If I had decided to sell 12 - 18 months ago the $225K - $250K prices would have been real numbers for the very best cars which mine was. Hopefully going to come back but who knows. The dramatic rise in value of these early cars over the past three or four years brought out many, many cars to the market. Now more supply than buyers and I believe a concern that values had risen to quickly, too high, and not sustainable. I am doing the same level of restoration on a 1970 911-S right now....will be interesting to see what the market is when the car is done but that is secondary to the enjoyment I get from the process.
