FS: 1975 Porsche 911 2.7 complete engine ready for rebuild

Porsche 2.7L engine, my shop got this engine for a rebuild a year and a half ago but the customer decided to build a more period correct early 2.7mfi engine instead of this CIS version. This engine was together when it came in and was a good runner until it lost a cam lobe, ruined a rocker and made a bunch of noise. Good thing is everything else's was in good working shape. It is a mostly complete 2.7, might be missing a bolt or two but the main stuff is all here. Case is a 1975 serial number 6151620 type 911/41. This case has Piston squirters, case savers on the head studs and the oil bypass already done. Comes with a std/std crank, 2.7 rods, oil pump, intermediate shaft, the Pistons and cylinders are Mahle NIKASIL with CIS Pistons and they are in GREAT SHAPE!!! Use the pistons and cylinders as they are with new rings and you will be good - huge new parts saving. Cylinder heads are original CIS that have been disassembled and ready for a rebuild. Cam towers included, the passenger cam is toast - a burnt lobe is the reason this case came apart but it would be better to change the cams for more power. Aluminum chain boxes are an upgrade, so are the aluminum valve covers which are less prone to leaks, turbo lower valve covers - great upgrade. All rockers and shafts included, need to replace 2 rockers that got burnt. Thermostat included, all hardware from this engine included. Clutch and flywheel.

Original Bosch distributor. Fan ring, 11 blade fan, and alternator included. All tin/sheet metal, green engine shroud. CIS injection is not included. Early exhaust for more power with 2 in one out factory muffler.

This engine should put out 180hp when completed with good cams and the early exhaust. The CIS engines are smooth running with good gas mileage. The mag case is quite a bit lighter than the aluminum ones. This engine is perfectly correct for 74-77 cars but will work in any 65-77 car, even in a 78-86 car but it won't pass emissions in those cars. Good for a 914-6 conversion as well. I was going to build this engine myself but changed to a different one. So we pulled it apart and professionally cleaned all of the long block parts, heads have been sand blasted clean - the cleaning alone is $600 worth of work. The condition of everything is very good compared to other worn out 2.7s I have taken apart. I restore high end Porsches for a living so all the work done so far is the way a good shop would do it and nothing was damaged when the engine was broken down.

Price is $6000. Southern California sale preferred but might ship if need be. Come see it in North County San Diego before you buy.
