I have no idea what this person is doing. My take is that if the engineers at Porsche saw no need for this brace then I don't see any need either.

    Richard.....

    i respect your opine...

but, many times racers can improve the breed over what an engineer decides a street car requires......and what the bean counters allow.....

that being said, Ive never seen this.....

what i see here is that they have cut away the rear slam panel and replaced it with this structure..possibly to make engine swap easier...
have seen this on a mid-late 70ies 911 race car...don`t remember if a factory car or not

Pretty cool stuff. I think 911 Quest and Moito are both right. This is PN's 1974 IMSA race car correct??
Cool car with some interesting history. Car has been for sale three times in the last year I think?

NOT the car it claims to be. NO PN history. I have found his original car and this orange car is a BS story.

removable rear engine crossmember, ala 935. (unnecessary on this, but if the rear bumper is easily removed then it speeds up engine removal)

yeah, I wish there was more of the rear of the car pictured, so I could see how the bumper is attached.
