    Racing helmets of the 1960's and 1970's

    What brands and models of racing helmets were used on the European racing and rallye circuit of the 1960's and 1970's?

    Pretty much exclusively Bell, at least in Formula 1 and 2. Until Simpson came along in the early eighties, Bell was in a class of its own.

    Thanks David. Was thinking more from a 911 perspective. Were Italian AGV helmets popular at this time?

    Buco, AGV

    Several F1 drivers wore Buco helmets in the 60s, including Clark and Stewart.
    AGV were popular in the 70s- Lauda, Regazzoni, Alan Jones etc...

    Vic Elford and Jo Siffert wearing Buco helmets in the 60s.
    Siffert switched to a closed Bell helmet in the 70s.
