    rear decklid emblem

How do you determine the correct finish for a decklid emblem? My car is a light yellow 72 S. What determined whether the emblem was silver, gold or black?
If the answer to this is incredibly obvious...feel free to PM me the answer to avoid public humiliation. I'm already at my quota for the year...I've already voted

We went round and round with this question a year or two ago and the consensus is that all 1972 cars came with black script.
I have photos of my 1972 911T when it was only a couple years old. And it definitely had black script.

My 1972 T which I picked up at the factory in September 1971 had the black emblem and script. It took me a while to get use to the Albert Blue paint and the dark lettering because it did not pop like the 1971 911 that I had seen in the show room.
