    Ventilation controls lightning?

    Hi,
Are the air ventilation controls on the lower part of the dashboard supposed to have a/some backlight ?
If so any link to some documentation to fix it?
It's pitch black down there when I drive my '71 911 E at night...
    Thanks, Olivier

The only light is the blue fan light on the right side which comes on with the fan switch. If you have auxiliary heating then you have the red on the left also. Other than that, no light. You could pull the bulb and socket out of the housing, fix it with wire or tape so it does not flop around and run the car at night with the fan just on. That way you would have some back light showing through the lever slots. Or run the ash tray light over behind the levers if you have the ashtray light. The ashtray light comes on with the instrument lights which you would have on at night anyway so that might work.
