    Tried to go see him on a trip to LA two weeks ago but he was no longer accepting visitors. Would have been a bucket list item just to shake his hand and thank him for his music.

    He and I were neighbors for a couple years in L.A. in the early '90's. A very interesting and very nice guy. When we first met he loved the fact that I had no idea who he was. I just thought he was the neighbor who spent a lot of time watering his lawn (which he did). As it turned out, we had some common interests. He used to clip magazine articles for me and leave them in my mailbox some of which I still have. Hard to believe he's gone.

    Saw him in Victorville! in 1995 believe it or not. He stopped at a club on his way to Las Vegas.
