    '73 Targa at Fantasy Junction

I'm pondering this Targa, any thoughts or does anyone know the car.

    Previous posting on Craig's List:
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...l=1#post873508

    VIN: 9113112225
    Engine: 6135823
    Mileage: 2,7732 TMU
    Price: US$72,500

Observations based on cursory review of images:
+ Generally accurate FJ description (as expected)
    + Nice looking original appearance
+ Very late production date (July '73)
+ CIS (runs lean, quieter induction noise and better gas mileage than MFI) though MFI has preferred throttle response and overall performance
    - not crazy about A/C equipped early 911s
-/+ First year of Cookie Cutter wheels - they are not Forged (like Fuchs) but Cast Aluminum
    - Non-original dashboard cover (should be separate speaker grill) and aftermarket steering wheel

    My free 2 cents.

Thanks Doug, I agree with you on all points.

What looks aftermarket about the steering wheel?

The car definitely needs a set of Fuchs.

    The price seems reasonable.

I'm also considering the '73 Oxford Blue Coupe at AK.

Joseph- Can go take at look at it this Saturday morning after EASY if that would help. Usually a small group of us go over to Fantasy Junction. Collectively the group has quite a bit of experience with LWB cars. Let me know.

I think that is a great idea. Joseph could get the collective input from 20 or so very experienced 911 owners/fanatics all pumped up with caffeine and sugar. Sorry, I won't be one of them. I'm heading up to Sonoma Raceway as soon as the last few people get bored and leave, hoping to get an hour or 2 seat time in the Easy 908 before they stop the race because of darkness.

    Ciao

Looks like a very nice correct & sorted out car considering all the junk out there for sale. Plus the price is quite reasonable. Don't see it lasting too crazy long

Looks like the COA shows that the vehicle had Fuchs originally but we all know that the COA is not 100% accurate. You should have no problems sourcing a date matched Fuchs which would be a fantastic upgrade.

I only like the Cookie Cutters when they have the black center caps and black lug nuts:

Boy, interesting choice! Both look like great cars, well cared for over the years. But on one hand, you have a Targa in a conservative, fairly common color. On the other, a Coupe in a fairly rare, bold color. A very personal choice for sure. Good luck choosing!
