Three retirements this year with Button, Massa and now Rosberg. Congratulations to Nico on the championship and for knowing when to retire. Tremendous amount of dedication and pressure. It will be interesting to see who fills Rosberg's seat with the Silver Arrows team.

Nico is a very nice guy and a respected F1 champion. He must have hated the F1 politics and Hamilton's attitude. Good for him to retire as a gentleman without creating a fuss. I think Button and Massa were also classy drivers. F1 will miss them and hopefully drivers (Ricciardo seems to be a great guy) will realize that attitude makes you a champion not winning at all cost. God, I must sound very old :-)

Yeah, no kidding. I saw Keke at Lime Rock in a Formula Atlantic race in the 70s before he went to F1. His mechanic looked like a viking with a long beard and hair, and the car was sponsored by a condom company...... ahh, the 70s. I think Bobby Rahal won, Danny Sullivan was in the race too. A lot of big time talent in those Atlantic races.

I wonder if Alonso could be a candidate?
I don't know what his contractual terms are, but he has certainly struggled with McLaren.
