New Service Offering: Cibie Bi-Iode & Marchal Amplilux Restoration

I've had a chance to disassemble both of these very desirable 7" dual bulb dual reflector headlights and I'm pleased to announce that I'm able to restore them, including the "resilvering" (actually vapor deposited aluminum) of the reflectors. These are really sought after and are worth restoring as they have a high value when in excellent condition. The restoration cost is $800.00 for either the Cibies or Marchals. Cores required.

    Cheers,
    John

I should have stated that in my initial post. I have a very small inventory and can do only core restorations. I have been doing a bit of accumulating though and I may have a restored set or two available for sale in the next few weeks.

I know you do great work - but it might help to see some of your before/after restorations in photos.

Also, how bad (rusty) can a reflector be and still be re-silvered?

    Thanks.

    Greg...

I will just as soon as I have finished my first set. This is a new endeavor for me. Whether a reflector is restorable or not is pretty much a subjective feel that I have developed over the years I've been doing this.

I have two sets underway so I'll have some results in a few weeks.

    Cheers,
    John

    Rusty...

Yes, the lens can be replaced, it's just a matter of finding a good one. I have a number of Amplilux and Cibie parts coming in - I'll check when they arrive and see if I have an extra lens.

I should clarify what I can offer here in terms of restoration services for Cibie Bi-Iodes and SEV Marchal Ampliluxes.

    What I can do:
    - Restore Hella sealed beam housings with new chrome trim rings and correct Hella lenses.
    - Disassemble lamp assemblies and replate reflectors using vapor deposited aluminum process and reassemble.

    What I can't do:
    - Restore or replace lamp assembly lenses.

    Thanks,
    John
