RHD Bosch 7045 Lenses - NOS or Close

Edit: I think these are 7045 rather than 4487 when they are RHD. Thanks...

Looking for a set that looks like the ones listed here:

    RHD euro-headlights.jpg

    and this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/291116731738...84.m1555.l2649

They're sometimes referred to as early H1 lenses but were in fact used on the SWB RHD Euro headlights. Must be in great condition, top dollar paid.

    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,

First I've heard about 'rounded' H1's. Wow!

Why the interest in RHD if you're from the USA?

By the way, if you look at the bottom of that ebay link, it says the following:

The number engraved in both lenses is 7045, NOT 4487 as in the description. I have a single 4487 lens that I listed on ebay too and forgot to change that number when I copied the ad over. My apologies.

OK, sounds like the LHD Bosch known as the 4487 has the designation of 7045 when it's RHD. Looking for a set for a customer in Australia.

    Thanks,
    John

These are very very rare. It took me ten years of very intense daily searching in all forums/for sale sites to eventually find a set of 7045's.

I have a set of Hella lenses which were also used in Rhd during the period which are direct replacements if you want to buy as an alternative. Not as difficult to find but still pretty rare in Rhd.

    Regards

Search using Bosch 7045 found this very old thread, adding to it as it provides some context to my question about this lens and housing with the markings and stickers per photos:

0E30229D-1375-4784-8D34-C557BEC81C56.jpgQuestion: Exactly what model years were these 7045 lens and housing with the ( unclear) pictured long Bosch part number used on a RHD 911?

The three digit on label if a Bosch manufacturing code is a bit grubby but looks like 502 which would be Feb 65 — if so consistent with early 911. I’m no expert on earliest 911 but wasn’t first RHD 911 delivered in U.K. was in May 65?

Date of this type of lamp is long before my model year 73 car (which still has original H4s date coded 1972 stickers). Maybe would sell (or swap it) by posting in appropriate section but at this stage posting initially to establish information about what I have from folks who know more about the earlier 911 lights.

No lens but more or less all else correct afaik, posting a photo for folks who like to see early (RHD) rare parts — a real deal old 7045 with Bosch date code on sticker 509 made September 1965 apparently.

Not correct version for my 73 RHD 911 I’ve offered it to someone who has appropriate car who took my other complete one
but might sell or trade what’s shown if he doesn’t need as rare genuine original spares. Lamps as referenced in period literature

Does anyone know when the 7045 and the equivalent LHD were superseded by the H1 on some markets. Was this at the dates of the 1968 model S year update or like the H4 was it date that didn’t coincide with model year change.

The H4 was announced part way through 1972 model year — I posted the announcement the month and year elsewhere. If not in an announcement has it been worked out by looking at unrestored cars - ones that might still have correct original headlamps?

The reason I ask is someone wants to buy one of my pairs of original H1 and I want to be sure whether it is Bosch 7045 RHD or an RHD H1 that is correct for his particular car.
