    Vin # for 1972 911T

I'm trying to locate my 1972 911T that I sold in 1984. I have the original chassis#: 911210xxx and Engine#: 61232xx and Vehicle ID: 911210xxxx. But I can't figure out the "WPOA...." VIN number so that I can perform a search. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

The later 17 digit VINs started in 1981. The 911210xxxx number is the VIN. You can not use tools like car fax and such that only work with 17 digit VINs to gather info on cars older than 1981.

Have you searched this site for the chassis number? Many publicly traded early cars are documented here, by VIN when it can be pulled from the ads. Worth a shot.

    1972 911T Vin #

    1972 911T Coupe Aubergine
    Type: 911 114
    Chassis# (Vin#): 9112102058
    Engine#: 6123324

Purchased new in Germany about May 1972, factory delivery, US specs, while in U.S. Army.
Sold in about 1984 in Southern California to a Mercedes dealer in Newport Beach. Dumbest decision in my entire life!
    Car had about 211,000 miles.

Thank you very much for whatever you can suggest on how to locate my old 911T!
