    Blaupunkt "W" radio?

    Just got this radio today.
    Any idea what it is for?

    Well, it's a '65/'66 AM radio and probably a Vienna?. Being that Blaupunkt made radios for both factory installs as well as the aftermarket, there's no way to pin down 1 vehicle that it could've been for. If I had to make a guess though, I'd say more than likely it was a vw upgrade over the standard Bendix Sapphire radio

    Apparantly, not all Blaupunkt radios had city names; that's probably a "35150" (or Exportsuper 35150) just like the label says. See http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/blaupun...0_serie_w.html

    I'd guess that the bezel/faceplate and the knobs are from a later radio--I don't think many radios had "safety" knobs in 1965.

    But, it's probably a reasonable period correct choice for a '65 beetle and correct knobs and faceplate shouldn't be too hard to find.
