Rubber cap for switch knob US MY 72

Started to correct the interior of my early US MY 72 produced in 8/71 no 258

My german delivered MY 72 no 625 never had rubber caps on the switch knobs.

Had a 73.5 US with those rubber caps.

Know an early MY 73 delivered UK and another delivered Germany without these rubber caps.

    Anyone who may clearify.
For which country were those rubber caps used in which periode?

No big deal to remove them, so no hurry.

I believe the rubber caps were a US-only mandated feature. They were not present on the UK or RHD models or most European delivered cars.

    Did some research on it.

To avoid accidents US and swedish cars had to have symbols and the easiest way had been the solution with the rubber covers.
    Any Input from a swedish 911 owner?`
