Thread: Seat base

    Seat base

I do know it came from a factory built 911 race car I once owned. Has the option of left or right installation with unique (to me) side plate. It may be a run of the mill standard base but I'm pricing it as a rare find. $2000.00 or please explain why it is worth less (or more). PP fees and shipping extra.P1040524.jpg

You, my friend are the poster child for Hope.

You're selling a stock 67-68 sport seat frame. Antiqued and the release handle is broken off.

Add keyword "Shabby Chic" and you may get some hits.

My guess the handle was probably removed not broken. Edit, there is no indication that there ever was a release handle. Compare to the other period base there are significant differences. Most notable the hinges and cross brace. Does it still qualify as stock? Price can be adjusted. 7 time Sebring 12 hour patina.

Seeing the other photo I will retract my original statement; the pivot brackets aren't typical of early sport seat frames.

There had to be a release handle at one time based on the hooks and spring.

    Intriguing. How about additional pics?

Would love to see more info on the car and when it ran at Sebring...

Scheel aftermarket. Not nearly as valuable as oem Porsche bases.

Thanks for the ID. I googled Sheel and found others like it. Appears a Sheel 300 was an ST and 914-6 GT option. So my question is, if a factory built 911 race car came with a Sheel racing seat, would that not be an OEM Porsche seat?

Absolutely. Especially if it had an R 300 or 303 Schalensitze attached to it...

Here is a good thread of a seat and tilting base that i owned. http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...base-ID-please

Armando now owns the tilting base. From memory i sold it for about half your asking. GLWS.

Side plate gone. Tilting base price reduced to what Armando paid (from memory). $1000.00 plus pp and shipping.
