I believe I remember another early reg member owning this car and having it down south in Florida after the build was competed to near R Spec on a Pelican thread a few years back maybe three ,four at most.
The gentleman than had it down south had a particularly difficult time moving it in the $50 k range at the time ..
Obviously the market has decided to recognize the expense involved in creating one of these hot little tarts is no easy feat!
Haha cool car lucky buyer , well sold say I !!! Bert
Oh yes it did have carbs early on...

    Hi,
I am the guy having bought this car from BAT. Was shipped back to Germany, and I would be happy to find out more about the car's history. especially between end 1980's and early 2000's.
As far as I know today, an early owner (Mr. Alan Ruzicka) had the car modified at TRE of North Hollywood in the mid 80's with the 1983 3.0 SC Euro engine and trans. In 2005 Tom Tweed (member #257 of this forum) purchased the car (see thread "1968 911 roll call") and modified it further. in 2014 the car was sold to Trissl Sports cars, and soon after acquired by BAT.
I hope BAT puts me in contact with Mr. Ruzicka, as according to his message in the auction, he still keeps a lot of records on the car. Apparently also TRE of North Hollywood remembers this client. Would be interesting to find out where there car was in between, there were some hints that the car was in the La Jolla area. If anyone knows more, please let me know (PM or in this thread) - Tx & Greetings from Berlin Matthias

sold new in Los Angeles, with engine 3380191. It had "s" instruments and oil tank, sportomatic transmission and not a factory sunroof. Chromed steel wheels.

Are you keeping it as is? Slate looks amazing!

Thank you both Jules & Frank for the info - good to have a clue on the original engine number and configuration !!

Delivered with sportomatic and now with aftermarket sunroof, I will stick to my initial intention and enjoy it as is (maybe some minor mods) & hopefully have lot's of FUN with her - btw. colour will stay - I also love the slate grey :-)

I'll post a photo of the car in front of Brandenburg Gate in Berlin once officially back on German roads :-)
