86 Sport Purpose Carrera "O4"
I'm surprised at the lack of comments of this car. I've seen really nice restorations with just a few errors critiqued heavily. This car is a good example of an over restored car. Lots more bling than how the cars rolled out of the factory. I'm also puzzled by the front shock towers, they seem to have a different contour than what I am accustomed to seeing, has anyone else seen them before?
Certainly the quality of work looks good and it must have cost quite a bit to do.

'73 S Targa #0830 2.7 MFI rebuilt to RS specs
My thoughts too, overrestored, something definately wrong with the right rear tailight fit in the sixth pic in.
This particular car has been up for sale for quite some time. I recall seeing it list in Hemmings many months ago.
At an asking price of $198,500, I would assume the photos would present a nearly flawless car. Doesn't seem that way.
Some red flags to point out:
- Why does a car with 36k original miles need such an extensive restoration? The value of low mileage is diminished by such a restoration.
- The hubcaps are missing off the wheels - a symptom of a lack of detail in presenting the car.
- Why all the detail shots of the front trunk? As you stated, the front shock towers look odd.
- The color behind the front grills should be black.
- Matching numbers claimed but no CoA shown - what's the big secret?
- No interior photos or top views of engine in engine bay.
This is only the tip of the iceberg.
