Thread: Position of the heating tubes

  1. #1

    Position of the heating tubes

Can anyone tell me how the heating tubes are going on these cars?
Because I have tried to compare it with different kind of pictures but can't see it very well.
Could it be that 303371 and 303381 have a different location of the heating tubes?

This is car 303371. Can't see it very well

This is car 303381. I suppose these are going above the torsion hole.

    Moito,

    Thanks for reply!
I already found this comparison a few weeks ago.
I even think you posted this comparison on another thread?
This is also the reason why I started this thread, because I cannot see which type this is with car 303371 from the first 3 pictures.
I would suppose 303371 has the same torsion tube type as 303381 but am not sure.

I have also picture of another car 303403.
Here you still can see clearly the L-bracket.
Car 303371 also has the L-bracket.
So car 303381 also needs the L-bracket.

What do you want to show with the yellow and the red line?

303381 is mine car (with the above type)
303371 is the car you showed in post #4. You are telling this is a below type.

Is this possible that with only 9 cars in between these cars could have other type of heating tubes?
Car 303371 has never been restored.
So I am just thinking, could it be that my car 303381 have the wrong type of body panel? Or could the other heating tube type and so a other type of body panel could be correct for mine?

Here you can see a picture of my car made for the FIA rally paperwork.
You needed to take pictures from different parts to post with the paperwork.
Don't know if you can see if this the same as with the picture I showed you in post #1?

This means that my car has the wrong rear wheel arch panel mounted at this moment?
We received it like this (such as posted in post #1).
Thought this almost was never replaced with a car...

Is there a way that I can check if this has been replaced?

Are there factory replacement parts by Porsche that has the correct below type or are they always the above type?

    Moito,

Here are 3 pictures of my car.
Don't know if you (with your experience) can see if these every has been replace?
My experience is not so good.

definetly some welding job done on the "black" car

drill a hole or buy a endoscope and have a glimpse how the tube runs

    But I suppose :

On the FIA picture you see the below type.
On the black car, now, you see the above type.
I suppose I never can check this correct?
Because I suppose if the body panel has been replaced they also needed
to change the location of the heating tube?
Suppose that with above type, only above placing of heating tubes is possible.
And with below type only below is possible.
    Or can this be combined?
Then I also think I have a problem with the restoration since I looked for factory replacement part.
And this is only above type which would not be correct for my car I suppose.
