Diminishing the driving appeal and capabilities of the 911 to one stat is kind of missing the point, isn't it?

I didn't buy even a new 911 for the stats, or one that is 50 yrs old.

    Au contraire,
IMHO, the stats show a relative minimal difference in the model range performance, illustrating the core driving experience can be enjoyed regardless of whether it be a base 911T or top of the line 911S. The expanding model range (and slightly varying performance) is more a marketing exercise to grow the customer base and annual sales.
