    AC part identification

    Doing clean up found this
    Its an under dash AC vent
    The back part is ok
    The cover has a split at each end
    Missing vent
    Whats is it from and what is it worth
    I searched around but could not find an identical one

    That is a VW of America unit, dealer installed.

    It's not worth much money but can still be of use to somebody. That set up was very popular in the mid 70s and is prone to falling apart. Yours appears to be in much better condition than the average bear.

    Haaahahahahahaha!! My new vote is that freezing14 mails the bezel to Jim.

    As the guy who is often tasked with removing/installing these God forsaken air bezels the more of them that end up in the trash the happier I am.

    The bezels are the same ones used in Piper Airplanes, at least, in the 80s and maybe after that. I have replaced more of those vents in the 2 Piper airplanes I have owned, using ones I removed from mid 70s 911s than I ever sold to the public. All you have to do is breathe on the POSs and they break.
    NOTE: The Coolair factory (the maker of that A/C unit using cheap plastic parts) is just down the road from the Piper Aircraft Factory in Vero Beach, Fl
