Seems inexpensive but maybe it is in that no-mans land of neither a major project or a lawn queen

Just another Craigs Lister trying to sell a car with 3 pictures and no documentation. With CL they may not even own the car. Its so full of corruption

If the ad is legit, it is probably a base USA model 911 ('Normal') Karmann coupe since no 911S's were imported into the USA in 1968. USA models for 1968 were 911 coupe and targa, and 911L coupe and targa. The base 911 coupe USA model was imported in relatively small numbers (~742) compared to the USA 911L coupe (~5,449).

Do you think the US 911L Targa number is a typo too? What source has more accurate production numbers?

Ye that L coupe number is a booboo in the paternie book. They added a digit (9 vs 8 digit VIN), there is one too many fives in the 118055449. The total number was probably just a copied calculation. oops

That is old news that the Paterine book was wrong. I can think of 5 or 6 books with the 720 ROW 911L's total production. Chris
