    Looking for info on 911S-L stamping on my 1973 vin pad

    Hello
    I am looking for information on the additional stamping above the vin on my 1973 911S coupe
    My car has an additional stamping of 911S-L right above the 10 digit vin on the raised pad on the trunk floor.

    Which country was it delivered to? France? A photo would help but French cars, at least in some years, had additional stamping above the VIN number

    here is a photo of an RS VIN on a car originally delivered to France. It is known to be original. It is stamped 911SC - F. SC was the official model description to make it a variant of the 911S for homologation and other "official" purposes. I dont know if the F stands for F series shell or some other F
    If it does stand for F series I am not sure what L would stand for

    How about a pic as the font may help to determine if it was done at the factory or not

    Actually 911S-E

    Upon closer inspection it reads 911S-E
    And font is identical to vin number

    So is it a 1972 model year car. Ie 911230xxxx. And French delivery. That would make some sense but without a photo and the numbers it is hard to say for certain
