Yellow lens - tint or vinyl, inside or out ?

Using my "dumb Q of the year" quota in early February, oh well...

I have a set of Hood mount Cibié repros (pelican stuff) that I want to install on my car - they're being repainted since I sold the car I was going to use them on initially.

I'd like a yellow lens on those... I read up on the JDM paint (very small can, pricey) and someone also mentioned vinyl film on the reviews... Any opinions on which is best for those, paint of vinyl - those lights are largely for looks and won't be turned on very much at all, twice a year maybe? Also if spray paint, I presume you paint the inside of the lens (?) - but wondering how on earth paint will stick to a smooth lens inside, or resists the heat of the bulb, just asking about general experience etc.... Thx !

Another option is to do yellow bulb, which creates a definite yellow effect due to the reflector but one that is subtler and more complex. Probably less likely to get you pulled over, as well.

Been looking for a set of bulbs in yellow to accomplish this with my driving lights.

They'd pull you over for extra driving lights in yellow ? I'd leave the mains "legal".
If so I'll take the chance... Good idea on the bulbs but I want to go more intense, the car is very monochrome ;-)

The JDM paint does work on the reflectors, but it also is not completely transparent. You will get a bit of a frosted effect and it won't give you the same light output as you have in effect dimmed the reflection a bit.

You used to be able to get a cover for the bulb, I think that Narva made them. Here's an old link where I bought one. Note that you might try Ebay in France, Italy or Germany as well.
