    Door check clicking

Some time ago there was a thread about trying to eliminate the clicking of the door check, most especailly on the driver's door from use.

The clicking isnt from the door check mechanism because I already went down that route and after replacing my door check, the clicking was still there. It is from the extra space between the door check pin and its mount to the door frame.

Has anyone figured out a way to solve this? Larger pin or a sleeve?

Are you sure one of the rollers (there are 2 on each door check) isn't cracked? I had the same problem on my passenger door and I pulled the door check out and didn't see anything wrong at first but when I took it apart there was a hairline crack on one of the rollers that was hard to see with no tension on the springs. So every time I opened the door the "click" was from the cracked roller.

We typically enlarge the bracket holes (because they get oblong) and strap hole and machine an oversize pin. Usually no more than 1mm larger.

I had picked up a small pair of bushings to fix my oblong door check holes.
