    VW Bahia Red vs Porsche Bahia Red

    Trying to determine if VW Bahia red code L30E is the same as Porsche Bahia Red code 022.? Any help appreciated

    As I recall, Porsche was the same as Opel Bahia.
    I think VW was a different generation.....
    I can double check my notes if you really need to know.
    BTW, why do you need to know?

    Just checked both are DuPont 8565.....
    BTW, you are probably still going to have to tint modern formulas to match old colors........
    and...use the proper base coat etc....

    Thx for the legwork Harvey. I want get a spray can of the stuff to blow in a little patch on the Targa bar (that will 95% covered anyway), nothing too sophisticated. It seems that a lot of the "touchup paint" companies that produce vintage vintage Porsche colors, don't do red's for some reason. Want Aubergine.? yup. Bahia Red.? nope. very strange, nobody seems to have it as a "Porsche" color" that is why I was investigating the VW route. Thx again

    I have a 1970 Karmann ghia that is its original bahia red. Unfortunately without a piece of a Porsche with its original paint bahia red it would be pretty tough to compare.
