    1059 has a similar alu lid. But there are no 'date codes' stamped on these, as far as I know --- see post #63 . . .

    What is stamped are the last two digits of the cars production number --- a practice of one of Porsche's major sub-contractors = the body-builder Karmann. Here's another thread/poll . . .

    Since Karmann didn't build any 'S' cars, the lid on offer is probably from a Karmann-built 'E'

    I wouldn't expect there to be one, Clyde

    I believe that the only stamps found on alu lids would be for numbers to match the car these lids were originally built for --- a practice only done by Karmann, up 'till ~'71?


    Any NOS part was prolly a spare . . . = would never have been installed = no car/production number assigned/stamped
