    Sunroof switch

Please pardon my ignorance and excuse me if this has come up before but what should a sunroof switch for a 1973 car look like? I recently bought an old one like this but am not sure if it is correct:

For a '73 car should the surround be chrome and the printing on the switch be white?

    Thanks
    Gitesh

If I'm not mistaken the surround is chrome, the lever is black, no writing, and the connectors are male spade.

    911GP,
The pic that you've posted is a URO switch.

    As in "urine".

Thanks everyone. I am even more confused now!

Frank - the switch I bought looks like this but is not a new one from URO. Here is a picture of the type I have, circled in red:

    I believe it has part number 911 613 622 00 or 911 613 622 01. According to the UK Porsche website the part I need is 911 613 622 00.

Peter - the eBay link you sent has part number 901 613 621 00 and it states 1969-72. The UK Porsche website states this part number is for power windows, not sunroof:

Here is a link for a sunroof switch similar to the one I have bought but it has a chrome surround and white markings on the rocker switch:

There is reference to this being a Mercedes switch rather than a Porsche. They are very similar and seem to only differ in cosmetics. It would be interesting to hear which is correct for '73.
    Thanks

    Getesh,
Just went through this with a 73. Bought 2 switches; one was URO, the other supposedly OEM (Wittrin).

    Identical switches.

Yes Frank Porsche have superceded the original to the black style you no doubt received

911GP, you need to verify whether your wire ends are for spade or a multi pin plug.
