Vent Glass order of assembly & adjustment

    Good morning.
I can't find good info on how to adjust the wing windows on my '66 after disassembly for restoration.
I used an o.e. seal on the driver's side, the pass. had no part # tag on it.
My factory manuals do not contain that section.
    Can anyone please help?
I saw the Peter Morgan vid on youtube, it go into enough depth for me.
It could be I'm not asking the question correctly.
    Thanks.
    Peter

Peter, Attached is the page from the shop manual. There are two points of adjustment, the friction plate at the bottom and the pivot on the top. Also, the plate (tab) for the lock arm can be bent a bit to tighten the seal. On assembly, install the bottom post into the friction plate first, then the top pivot. I found that adjusting the pivot as high as possible usually works best.

Perhaps you can post a pic so we can see what you are looking at. At what speed does this whistle occur? Both sides?

    Here are some pics.
The chrome surround is not aligned correctly in the window frame. Could be the glass is not seated in the frame properly either?

I'm afraid to put any more side load on the glass, because it might break just like it did when disassembling!.
I can't get it aligned right so it closes smoothly without having to pry on it.

Did you have your glass out of the frame? In your last picture the edge of the glass should be even with the edge of the top chrome piece.

    Hi Ed.
Yes, the glass was out, I was having the frame rechromed.

Ed, thanks for your brief yet concise assessment of my vent glass alignment.
I was afraid to take it apart because I thought I'd break the glass
I removed the glue, cleaned the frame and the glass slid in properly.
Very exciting to have one stumbling block removed.
    Now...on to the other side!
What type of glue should be used to secure the glass in the frame?
    Thanks again.
    Peter
