Swb 68 only question - drive shafts

    Hi,

Rear suspension is coming together, but am having trouble sourcing a drive shaft seal. I am looking for item 90133128300:

What is interesting on my car is that I have lobro ends on nadella shafts.

This seal seems to be NLA ? Thoughts suggestions please

There is still a reasonable number of those in Emeryville.

    Rich, I don't understand this.
Those are Löbro stub axles in your rear wheel hubs. You have Nadella axle shafts as well, exactly like #17 in your illustration?

The spline adapter uses the same seal on both the Nadella and Lobro Shafts used with a SWB Trailing Arm

    BUT

You can't use the Lobro shaft with a Nadella Axle - They just don't fit together.

Unless you have an early LSD fitted to the transmission Lobro's would have been 'stock'.

The one on the far right at the bottom of the photo is an original part.

I don't really want to disagree but the Lobro Axle shown on the above diagram is from a 1969 onwards LWB chassis. (69-)

The CV Joint shown as a 4 Bolt design as indicated by the dowels in two positions(15). These CVs are 108mm diameter and the flange is the short design compatible with the hub of a LWB Trailing arm. The Bolts are M10 diameter.

The 1968 Lobro is 94mm diameter and has 6 x M8 Bolts. The flange is the long design to suit the SWB Trailing arm and bearing arrangement.

This flange has the same splined length as the Nadella Joint. It also used the same seal as the Nadella shaft.

The configuration Chris shows above is exactly as I have on the car. It is different to the first diagram I posted above (which details the part I am after).

Chris is this something you can help with? Regards Rich

The photograph I posted shows the seals we have in stock.

The seal is a square section o-ring. I had to buy a bag from McMaster to get two. I sent a bunch to Ed Mayo, you might see if he has a couple.
