Thread: Fuel rail mounting on a 1969T with Webers.

Fuel rail mounting on a 1969T with Webers.

Could someone tell me how the fuel rail (hard line between the engine bay fuel pump and carbs) was originally mounted? Was it held in place by the two metal tabs on the back firewall? Thanks.

Looking at the backside of your engine, the metal fuel line that I'm talking about is missing. You just have the short rubber fuel lines coming from your carbs.

Yes It is held by those two tabs. The metal is buffered from the tabs by 2cm long pieces of split rubber tubing around the fuel line. There is NOT the plastic sheathing on the tabs like they do for wiring harness attachment. This was done on the Weber and Zenith cars SWB and LWB. By the way...the fuel lines at the carbs had non-crimped ferrules on the hose ends at the carbs originally.....most folks these days use hose clamps at these locations for safety. Here's a shot of my '67S...same as '69T (which I also own, but no pic)Name: L1080264.jpg
