    small tubes on rear shelf of 1969 911?

    What would the tubes be on the rear shelf of the 911?

    the paint appears to be original.
    will start looking into what they are doing on boths side of the package shelf.

    Perhaps an obvious question, but you don't mention where the 'ends' of the tubes go/connect to, but I agree with the other posters...nothing like that on my 70 either.

    Early prototype of "motor sound option" that transmits engine sounds into the cabin for aesthetic reasons.

    Alas, this early version also transmitted Carbon Monoxide and was abandoned fortunately before coming to market.

    Later it appeared in the 991:

    Mine does as well, doesn't look like that hey have added as an afterthought. My car is a 69 T

    I believe those holes/tubes are threaded on the inside to mount a rear shoulder belt, only seen them on a few cars

    Forum user: advtracing sells reproduction ones, he lists them as harness mounts for Rs, STs & RSRs
