    1969 Correct paint?

I will be painting my 1969 in it's original color of Sand Beige this year.

Would like to try to keep it true to the way they came from the factory in terms of paint.

I assume Glasruit would be what I should use.
    Would single stage be correct?

Anything to take note of when trying to paint it 'concours"

Also wondering what others have done here to the underside in terms of protection paint?

If still on the car, the original paint code tag will tell you what the paint manufacturer was originally, i.e. 1111-G (for Glasurit) was Light Ivory on my 70-S. You will likely get a number of opinions re keeping it a single stage which your car would have been in that era (and also not being a metallic color), but my two cents is to give strong consideration for a base/clear application for increased durability, the ability to blend in the case a repair is needed, etc. A bare metal strip, epoxy undercoat, then finish primer, sealer, and then base (or base/clear) are the product steps...none of that includes body work and endless sanding at the finish primer level. A stunning amount of work if you want to do it yourself....the prep is EVERYTHING in getting the final color to look the best it can. Not sure about your 'underside' paint protection question unless you are referring to the factory heavy-bodied undercoating...if so, that topic has been covered endlessly on the Forum.
