    I hope this isn't a typo!

I finally sent for the COA on my '67 and it turns out it's an S and an early one at that- Manufactured 03/03/1967. I had no idea, I thought it was a plain 911. No S badges on the car. Unfortunately, the engine is not the original although it is an S motor.
I would love to find #911455

Based on the engine number on your COA you have a 67 normal. 67S engine would start with 96.

    Sorry to burst your bubble.

rats, too good to be true then? A Porsche COA typo? did they start the 96 engine numbering from the get go? It is a pretty early '67

Did someone doing the COA mistake the type as 911 SUNROOF - abbreviated to 911S?

Look to the aluminum serial number plate on the front slam panel - is the first boxed area"TYP" prestamped 911S - if no "S" there - not a S body.
That engine serial number in not a "S" engine. Just lost 30 HP.

Does the car have the vented rotors front and rear. Rear sway bar pins welded thru the rear banana arms? The difference between a "normal" and a "S" totals to a page and a half of different part numbers to bring it to 911S spec's.

Do a little research for a Kardex for this car. It might be worth it to get a second factory document to confirm or deny what it should be.

That serial number sequence would give it about a January 1967 build date. EDIT SEE post from Hugh with accurate information - Build date March 1, 1967 (Thank you Hugh).

They started the MODEL year back in September 1966 - so January is the fifth month of production for this MODEL year. Good Luck.

I'll check on other numbers. It does have vented rotors rear and front, I just got my calipers back from PMB. It took them over a week to re-build because of the "rarity of the S calipers" guess they don't have those on the shelf to do a core exchange.

Alas, the "type" on the slam plate says 911 with no S. Oh well, I love the car anyway and will never sell. And I didn't lose 30hp. This car currently sports a hot rod motor that just screams. Less than 30 K on it. Here's the build sheet

I, by pure coincidence, have a reference on this car from the build book. All the details match (although the build book reference did not show colour or interior) EXCEPT the production date (which i would expect anyway. The kardex date 3/3/67 is never the exact completion date; it is the "date delivered from the factory" the actual build completion date on this car according to the build book was the First of March 1967, two days before it was shipped from the factory. That also gives a rough idea of how much stock of completed cars they held in the yards prior to shipping.
