    Help needed mounting TTG's

Searched but didn't find anything specific on how you mount the lights and grilles. Been fiddling for 30 mins and can't figure it out. There doesn't seem to be any way, once the parts are in place, to tighten down the 17mm nut behind the body-mounted U-bracket, or the 6mm allen that attaches the light to the bracket. The horn grille is in the way of access to everything. My car came with these from the factory so the U-shaped bracket that mounts to the body is already in place. The lights/grilles are the beautiful repros from Eric Linden. What am I missing here?

Such a classically German setup -- a total Rube Goldberg machine.

If I recall correctly, you need to remove the brackets, mount the lights then reinstall.

Thanks, I had an inkling of suspicion that might be what I was missing.

You attach the light to a bracket, then attach that bracket to another bracket, then attach that bracket to the car.
