    Question, banjo horn refurb

I found some old threads regarding rebuilding banjo horns, but all the links are long-dead. It was suggested that some other Bosch horn had the same electrical portion that would easily swap onto the banjo horn body. My research shows the banjo horn and the early trumpet horns are not compatible.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks

The guts of the banjo and trumpet horns are definitely different but I've not been able to find anything that resembles the banjo horns internals. It sure would be nice if some were available.

have a site member here trying to resurrect my banjo horns, and it's a very tall order. Once they are "deceased" very difficult to bring them back from what I'm told. I too would welcome any gut transplants that could work

I found some period Bosch horns that seem to have the correct body dimensions, once they arrive, I will document the details if they do interchange, otherwise, I'm following up on a lead of a local guy who can rewind the coils.

I would be very interested if those Bosch guts interchanged with the Banjo guts

Ebay has Porsche horns listed (many). The trumpet versions are the black plastic but there is both low and high tone varieties.

To restore my red trumpet versions I took off the old failed portion and attached to them. Work great.

The coil/ electromagnet on the trumpet horns do not interchange with the fanfare/banjo horns.
