    Identify door garnish moldings.

    I have these garnish trim pieces I am not sure what year they are for. Still are made of steel and has tabs around the door lock that fits in door shell like 65-68 but has a foam core over the steel and then has vinyl glued over it. One off those weird 69 pieces?

    How thick is the padding? 68 rails are padded like the 69-71 rails just less so.

    It's thick like the pressure formed type later ones. I have some other parts I marked 68 but they are just the steel with no padding and vinyl glued over the steel. I guess maybe they could be late 68/69 like door handles and 3 bar grilles?
    Would still like to have them verified please. Thank you.

    I'm guessing your other parts are marked incorrectly. Door rail progression is:

    65-67: Vinyl hand-wrapped over steel. No padding.
    68: Vinyl hand-wrapped over thin padding over steel.
    69-71: Vinyl hand-wrapped over thicker padding over steel.
    72-73 (and later): Vacuum-formed vinyl over foam.

    If I had to guess based on your photos, I'd say yours were 1968 parts.

    Those are 68s. The ones you have "marked 68s" aren't.
