    Front Bumper "Tabs" Source

    Hi,

I am looking for the Tabs that are on the front bumper towards the outer corners as mine have rusted away!

I am sure I have seen these available from somewhere.

    Thank you in advance
    Ray

yeah, your request is kind of unclear....

to begin, it is pretty important to know what year/era bumper you are talking about.

second, do you mean the mounting brackets that bolt to the chassis?

    Sorry yes kind of unclear

SWB Front Bumper tabs or mounts that attach to tho body the outer ones

Not the bumper mount that has the two bolts that connect to the bumper brackets

okay, i think i get it ... are you talking about the bumper mounting bracket in this photo?

if so, i vaguely recall someone having fabricated such a beast, but it was a long time ago. (you might call restoration design and see if they will sell you that piece, before it is welded to the bumper they fabricate.)

glad to help. with regard to consulting restoration design, let us all know how it works out. the idea kind of represents a different concept of a parts manufacturing operation, and i'm not sure i have seen it done before.

clearly, they have to manufacture, or obtain, the piece in order to weld it to a $1300 bumper. clearly, a fabricator local to you probably could manufacture one, or get close. i've never seen anyone buy an entire bumper because of that one piece (in most cases, those circumstances seem to cause someone to buy a scrap bumper in order to obtain the mount-tab). so, it will be interesting to see whether R-D finds the idea to be a new way to be profitable, beyond selling entire bumpers. i don't pretend to speak for them, but the DeYonge guys are smart and i suspect they will figure it out.

this seems like one of those times that a minor discussion about a tiny piece could become more important to the community. keep us posted.
