Thread: Beautiful Car

    Beautiful Car

This car pops up on the opening screen and I'm sure everyone else but me knows to whom it belongs so please pardon my ignorance.
I just wanted to say: "VERY NICE!" (great composition too!)

John Eiskamp's 67 912 hot rod. That picture doesn't do it justice. It is stunning in person and even better chasing it around West Coast Race tracks.

    Regards

It's a gorgeous car in great colors, full of cool details. There was a fairly extensive article on it in Pano...or was it Excellence? Have to say the last few years have been a blur!

    Thumbs up

John is a great guy who built a real show stopper....

The car runs like hell, the detail is gorgeous, and he drive the wheels off it.....

The color is a 356 Orange....
Once at an Irvine C&C John's car was parked across from a 356 in the same color... and it just didn't look the same.
To me this color lends itself to the 911's shape.... It's just a click lighter/brighter then mid 911 Peru Red .... another one of my favorites.

John E. is just a cool guy!!
Incredible build by Scotts Independent.. Scott Hendry and Dan Reese!

This car is driven to Concours, wins, then driven ON a track and IN long Rally's. Then driven home!
The way it is supposed to be!
Total respect for the man and the car

I was thinking just what Ray wrote. I spend a lot of time at the socal events and I see John a LOT....he's a great guy and the car must have racked up a ton of miles since the build, yet it look perfect every time, something I cannot say about blucille.

and his raspberries are outstanding, too. I think it is somewhat ironic that the color of his car and the fruits of his labor are pretty darn similar.

I met John at the last Rennsport and he solved a longstanding question I have had
In 1967 the local agent had a new 911 S in that exact colour and I have never seen it again
    I remember it as a russett colour = 356 orange ?
At Laguna Seca 2009 I also saw a '58 356 in the same colour
Dr Brett gives it as 5711 - orange - the only orange in his lists

    cheers

Hey...what...I heard you guys were talking about me over here...!! Thanks all for the compliments!

Here's a little info about the car. 1967 912, #5711 Orange (color change from Bahama Yellow), 2002cc Willhoit designed motor built by Dan and Scott at Scott's Independent in Anaheim where I was the "shop gopher" and broom pusher back in the early '80's. They also built the 5-speed close ratio transmission with a limited slip and assembled the suspension loaded with Elephant Racing goodies and 911SC front brakes. Paint and body were done by Leland's Automotive in Scotts Valley which is up near where I live. Interior was done by John Moch (Moch-1) who did Porsche interiors in Orange, CA for many years before retiring.

Yes, I am a farmer who grows raspberries and blackberries for the Driscolls label so buy tons!! As I often have the car in SoCal but live in NorCal, many people ask if I actually drive the car back and forth to which the answer is: "Of course!"

    Here are a few pictures:

    And the before:
