This system is just in the process of being released http://www.classicretrofit.com/elect...11-1974--1989/
Seems to be a good option over old school set ups but I'd be waiting for market feedback.

Looks interesting, no need to hack up the front of the car. A bit expensive at about $5K with exchange.
Hmnnn, not sure how much faith to put in an A/C system developed in the 'mother country',,,,, now a defrost system,,,,that's another story!!

Some other options include RetroAir (http://www.retroair.com/porscheairconditioning.html), Griffiths (https://griffiths.com/), and Rennaire (http://www.rennaire.com/). These are conventional belt driven compressor systems, not an electrically driven compressor like the Classic Retrofit system which looks pretty neat.
My '77 930 was a factory AC car with the original York piston style compressor. I've kept all the original factory parts, but when the car was sympathetically restored a few years ago switched to rotary style Kuehl compressor and system from Griffiths. I've been very pleased with it. Here in the Northeast we don't get temps in the high 90s or >100, but in the summer it's 80s/90s and extremely humid so effective AC makes driving the car much more enjoyable especially on long trips.

Call Charlie Griffiths he will fix you up. It won't be period but it will blow cold.

I will have a Coolaire system available once it is removed from my 70s in the next month or so.
