Early911SRegistry/RGruppe Coffee and Doughnutfest Sat June 3

I just put in my doughnut order for Saturday morning. It fills up the back of my 911! Starts at 9am but folks start arriving before 8am for the best parking spots.

Interesting note: The author of that piece is none other than Bradley Brownell, a good friend of ours. He is hosting another event on the same day called Radwood https://www.radwood.co/ on the other side of the bay, featuring cars from the 80s and 90s. Certainly, not the same demographic.

    Ciao

PS: I should also mention that the Parts Heaven Swap meet and show will be held on Sunday, down the road in Hayward

Today is National Doughnut Day. We will be celebrating it tomorrow, though.

    Ciao

As ever, a great morning was had by all at June's 1st-Saturday-of the month EASY gathering yesterday. Good turn-out, noteworthy cars, the predicted warm weather failed to materialize, and a good group of folks were in attendance.....................what more can anyone ask.

The two gents ( photo #4 ) are the Diefenbach brothers, Marty (left) and Robert, paying an unannounced visit from the Midwest - friends, R Gruppe members and longtime early 911 owners.

Someone's one's sense of humor on display at the doughnut trough..................and a series of four of a magnificently well-done 356 in the darkest green possible before you'd swear it's actually black....stunning.

The last two images show close friend Lee Mlejnek's- leecarerra on the ESReg - old Tangerine Sportomatic 911. In my view there are certain cars that shall always be known by a certain, prominent owner in their past, no matter in whose stewardship they may reside today, simply because they essentially aquired their defining 'persona', or identity if you will during that caretaker's time of ownership. I recall when it came off the flatbed after Lee purchased it as a 'roller' and watching it turn into a beautiful, very authentic driver / Concours car. It didn't journey very far, since it's presently owned by a local gentleman who is enjoying the 'Longhood' experience via this very soundly built and immaculate Sporto.

And more, starting out with a new Turbo Cabriolet, Haasman's ubiquitous Viper-Green 73 S in a slightly precarious corner spot where late-comers making dramatic entrances onto Harlan Styreet could do real damage if not very careful, and a particularly nice and straight 911 early Turbo in paint-to-sample Beige Gray with a gorgeous brown interior..........sensational.

On a personal note, I normally don't like black automobiles, but even I have to admiringly admit that the last photo of that monolithic, spotlessly clean and otherwise unadorned black GT3 stunningly represents the best Porsche currently offers in production 911s.
