I just noticed that the front bumper assembly of my 68 911 includes something that they refer to in the parts manual as "intermediate piece, rubber."
Can someone provide guidance?

Was it shown in the parts book illustration?

Yep. But can't figure out what it looks like or what it's made of.
Can't find that part number in my swb parts catalogue?

901.501.084.20 shows up in the 1965 Parts List as a Right Hand Side Engine Bearing and is the weld-in steel corner reinforcement that carries the engine mounting rubber.
This changes in a later version of the PET to 901.501.083.20 which is symmetrical and used in either the Right or Left Hand Corner (On the 1965 Parts List this was listed as the Left Hand Engine Bearing)
In the bumper section of this parts list there is a, 'intermediate piece-rubber- listed but this is for the rear bumper and it is a small square rubber washer that isolates the bumper strut which passes through the rear chassis rail in the engine bay. This is listed as 901.501.909.20.
In the current PET this is listed as a 'desk pad' but is deleted on later models although it is still available from Porsche.
I can't find any rubber intermediate piece for the Front Bumper on the 1965 Parts List nor in the current PET
Might you be searching for:

This is a smart community and i love it. Just got back from the stoddard swap meet to check this....
The correct part # is 901.501.909.20, as jimmyt suggests. Not sure how i missed it that badly. But it is a rubber buffer for the bumper side mounts.
