Thread: Tan lined tool kit question

    Tan lined tool kit question

What year is this tool kit from? It has basket weave, a tan liner and DFS wrenches. I also have the lug wrench, it's just not shown.

I thought it was 1969 but I just learned they had a smooth bag?

    Thank you

    1970 through early/mid 1973.

Tools (not bag) also correct also for 1969 but the screwdrivers would have slightly bulbous handles.

Do you have one with a putty colored interior to lay next to it for reference for us? I've not seen a Tan basketweave bag, only Tan with smooth. I've owned 5 69S's and all had a smooth bag w/tan for whatever that's worth....

I will dig through what i have for a comparison Erik! I have a few basket weave bags without liner and clasps - that would be late 73?

Most late 73 bags I've seen have strings. I've also seen a couple claimed late 73 bags with buttons. None with clasps.

I've had 73 bags with clasps, lined, same as the 70-72 bags, but they were early delivery cars.

Agreed. Every early/mid 73 bag I've had has been the 70-72 style. Only late 73 bags were the string style as far as I know.

Think the one in the pic is a putty one Eric but Jules is calling it tan as the 69 bags I have had, have had much more brown (tan) look to them

And that's precisely why I asked!
